Who can apply?
(1) Indian Citizens may apply for re-issue of Indian passports in following cases:

If existing passport is going to expire within one year;

If existing passport is lost or damaged;
-
If number pages of existing passport are less than four;
-
If there is change in personal particulars printed in the passport;
(2)
In case of new born baby, whose either of the parents is Indian and
they want to choose Indian citizenship for the child, may apply for a
fresh passport along with Online Indian Citizenship Application Form.
